The Lord's Prayer - Christian Based Meditation and Prayer
"Teach us how to pray," the disciples said to Jesus. (Luke 11, 1) He answered by teaching them the prayer we call the Our Father or The Lord's Prayer.
-
Sit in a relaxed position
-
Concentrate on breathing
-
Inhale through nose
-
Exhale though mouth
-
Relax
-
In the mind being to visualise this prayer
-
See each word of the prayer and begin to recite in your mind
-
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done of earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil. - As you recite the prayer in your mind, try and visualise the love of God, and the love of the Father, and for these brief moments surrender yourself to these feelings. God, the Father, is Love.
- Relax and refocus on breathing.
- Gentle awaken from meditation/prayer
